The night before in Brooklyn, New York on the site of a former shipyard took place the fashion show for Christian Dior Cruise 2015 collection. Despite the eternal New York cork to be late for the show was not allowed even the most distinguished guests . The organizers took care of transporting their guests , dropping them on the East River side in water taxis with the initials of the fashion house . With the warning on the invitation “to be in port for 10 minutes ” , for those always late sounded like a taboo , but being late for the ferry for Dior’s show talented under the creative direction of Raf Simons would be a crime.
First to see the cruise 2015 creations of Raf Simons were 150 lucky guests among whom were editors of leading fashion magazines from around the world, buyers and, of course , the famous designer’s admirers like Rihanna who surprised with an uncharacteristically modest pink dress by Dior , Marion Cotillard chose a translucent embroidered dress, Maggie Gyllenhaal , Leelee Sobieski, Allison Williams, Margot Robbie, the artist Sterling Ruby, and designers including Christian Louboutin and Proenza Schouler’s Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough .
A collection including sixty-six looks to celebrate the 66th year of Dior in the USA. “Did you know? This is the sixty-sixth year that Dior Inc. U.S.A. exists. There was always a strong relationship between Mr. Dior and U.S. clients. It makes sense for us to come here now.” said Dior president and CEO Sidney Toledano.
