♥Isabel Marant♥ Spring Summer 2012

ISABEL MARANT is the wardrobe staple for gorgeous girls at the forefront of the wannabe lists these days Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kates Bosworth and Moss for starters and her plans to open a store on London’s Bruton Street have sent ripples of excitement out of Mayfair.
Her shows often offer her ideas in their most condensed form – in the flesh the collections are more accessible to a wider range of customer, backed up by the just-as-desirable Etoile second line. So today her muse was the youngest, hippest, hottest Marant fan -  in tie dye, spray on, cut off denim hot pants worn with a spray-painted red and white sweatshirt.
It’s festival wear for those that need make no effort , patchwork denim playsuits, a boyfriend’s American football jersey, red and white striped track pants, a couple of ruched jersey single-shouldered minis (one red, one black), one glittering, oversized string vest, an oversized, faded checked shirt, a couple of mirror-embellished waistcoats and one huge khaki jacket in case the sun goes in – and that’ll do for a summer of international travel and unadulterated fun.
Unbrushed hair and huge cable knits accentuated the message that this was a life for the very young and very cool – it’s not that rules are there to be broken, it’s simply that rules don’t exist. When you’re this gorgeous, you just don’t care.
VERDICT: This collection had an infectious mood of youth and rebellion, and although we can't see Isabel Marant fan Victoria Beckham slouching around in her jogging bottoms and a T-shirt - at least not in public - dedicatees to all things Marant will love the worn-in biker jackets, tiny lurex minis and chunky knit dresses.
